Product Description:
- Cobalt Prep is a water-washable paste consisting of EDTA salt that removes calcifications inside the canal and also provides lubrication, facilitating canal filing and reducing the risk of file breakage. This product removes the smear layer and softens the dentin surface by removing minerals, which in turn facilitates canal filing.
- The absence of carbamide peroxide in the formulation of this product minimizes the side effects of not creating a proper bond after endodontic treatment.
- The use of polyglycols with a melting temperature close to body temperature gives the Cobalt Prep product its lubricity in the root canal.
Components:
Two 5.8 gram syringes, two special tips
Uses:
Root canal debridement Facilitates file movement within the root canal Assists in mechanical preparation of narrow and curved canals
Method of use:
After preparing the access cavity, place the cobalt prep into the pulp chamber and insert it into the canal with a file or reamer. After each filing, wash the material inside the canal well with sodium hypochlorite by changing the file and use cobalt prep again. Cobalt prep is used in root canal treatment, especially in calcified, curved and narrow canals, together with a file and reamer. Due to the absence of carbamide peroxide in the formulation of this product, you can perform adhesive treatments immediately after endo treatment. It is recommended to use this product at an ambient temperature of 20 to 25 degrees.
If you store this product in the refrigerator, allow the product to reach room temperature after removing it from the refrigerator. If you attempt to remove the product from the syringe at a temperature of 5 degrees, the material may become two-phase or not be released from the syringe tip. Using an overheated product can also lead to reduced physical properties and an undesirable experience with this product.
Clinical tips when working with cobalt prep
This product is designed for dental use only, by dentists.
Avoid using the product for patients who are allergic to its components.
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
Since Cobalt Prep should not remain in the canal for a long time between treatment sessions, after mechanical cleaning of the canal, thoroughly rinse the canal in each treatment session. It is recommended to use this product in alternation with sodium hypochlorite or cobalt chlorhexidine solution. Due to the irritating properties of the substance, avoid injecting it under pressure into the canal and passing the substance through the apex. If the cream is difficult to remove from the syringe, replace the needle tip. After working on the patient, replace the needle tip and close the syringe cap. This will increase the product’s lifespan.
