Instructions for using calcium hydroxide cobalt paste

Product Description:

  • Cobalt Paste is a pre-mixed calcium hydroxide paste containing barium sulfate. This product is free of iodoform, soluble in water, and can be easily removed from the canal environment. In addition, Cobalt Paste is radiopaque and antibacterial, reaches a pH of 12 in the presence of water, and with appropriate viscosity, it gives the dentist the ability to inject into the root canal and cover the side canals. The disposable plastic injection set of this product allows for easy injection into the root canal space.
  • This product is formulated without water in the paste composition, so it does not dry out and its phases do not separate.

Components:

One 5.1 gram syringe

22G needle head

Plastic head

Uses:

  1. Apexification
  2. Pulp cap and pulpotomy
  3. Bleeding canals
  4. Creating a hard tissue barrier
  5. Temporary root filling material for adults

Method of use:

After preparing the root canal space, rinse and dry it. Gently inject an appropriate amount of calcium hydroxide paste into the canal orifice and remove any remaining calcium hydroxide in the pulp chamber with sterile cotton. To protect the product from moisture, remove the needle tip and replace it with the cap after use. The use of propylene glycols with a melting temperature close to body temperature allows better penetration of calcium into the dental canal, which then sets due to the moisture of the canal.

If you store this product in the refrigerator, allow the product to reach room temperature after removing it from the refrigerator. If you try to remove the product from the needle tip at a temperature of 5 degrees, the material may become two-phase or may not come out of the syringe tip. Using an overheated product can also lead to reduced physical properties and an undesirable experience in using this product.
