Product Description:
- SDF Cobalt is a silver-fluoride-containing substance used as an anti-allergic agent in dentinal caries. It can also be used as a stop for rampant caries.
- This product can cause discoloration in arrested caries.
Components:
One bottle of SDF 4 grams One bottle of KI solution 6 grams
Uses:
Stopping rapidly progressing caries
Cervical dentin desensitization
Method of use:
- Clean the surface of the teeth to be treated well with prophylactic paste and brushing.
- Dry and isolate the teeth, preferably using a rubber dam, and cover the gums with Cobalt Gum Protection Gel.
- Cover remaining soft tissue, such as the lips, with Vaseline or glycerine gel. If you are not using a rubber dam, isolate the teeth with a cotton roll.
- Pour a drop of SDF solution into the pit and apply it to the desired teeth with a suitable microbrush.
- Immediately pour the KI solution (second bottle) into another well and apply it to the tooth surface with a clean microbrush. Apply this solution to the teeth that have not been treated to prevent discoloration if the first solution accidentally comes into contact with them. Continue applying the second solution until the new solution remains clear.
- Rinse your teeth with water spray for 20 seconds and dry thoroughly.
- SDF Cobalt product can cause discoloration in decayed dentin.
- Before closing the bottle, clean the dropper head of each bottle well with an absorbent tissue and close the bottle tightly.
Permissible consumption:
In each treatment session, you are only allowed to use one drop of solution from bottle number one and 2 to 3 drops of solution number two. If more use is needed, you should discharge the patient and allow at least a week between treatment sessions.
Bottle number one solution of this product contains 50,000 ppm of fluoride ions.
Clinical tips during work:
The patient or parent should be informed of the possibility of tooth discoloration when using this product. Avoid contamination of the patient’s soft tissue and clothing with the solution from the first bottle and in case of accidental contact, follow the first aid protocol in this manual. Avoid contact with the eyes. This product is intended for dental use only by dentists. Do not use the product in patients who are allergic to fluoride, silver, or iodine. Use with caution and with the permission of the treating physician in patients with thyroid problems. Never use this product after the expiration date or 3 months after opening the bottle.
The solution in bottle number one will cause a gray to black discoloration upon contact with soft surfaces and tissues.
Never use this product without gloves.
First aid:
Eye contact: Hold eyelids open and flush eyes with plenty of water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Skin and soft tissue: Flush area with plenty of water and seek medical attention if necessary. If discoloration occurs, it will disappear within 48 to 72 hours. In case of skin contact, apply a small amount of Solution 2 to the skin and spread well, then rinse the area with plenty of water. Ingestion: If swallowed, drink 2 glasses of milk and seek emergency medical attention immediately.
Warnings:
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If this product comes into contact with a surface, quickly clean the surface with an appropriate amount of bleach solution. If the product gets into the eyes, rinse them with plenty of water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention as soon as possible.
Storage conditions:
Please store at 20-25°C.
This product should not be stored in the refrigerator.
Avoid mixing the solution from bottles one and two. After using this product, close the bottle tightly and keep it out of the reach of children.
