Product Description:
- Cobalt Gum Shield Resin is a light-cured methacrylate resin that acts as a strong barrier between the gums and chemicals. It can also be used to protect other teeth that are not involved in the treatment process. The cobalt tail lifts easily from the gums during bonding and proper sealing. The resin is designed to reflect light, thereby minimizing heat and tissue sensitivity.
Components:
One 2 gram syringe, two special tips
Uses:
Protecting the gingival margin during bleaching treatment Facilitating isolation of the tooth with rubber dam in root canal and restorative treatments Facilitating placement of matrix strip in the restoration of severely damaged teeth Protecting the gums during the use of air abrasions
Method of use:
- Place the gum protection resin 5 to 10 mm from the gum edge. Cover the open interdental embrasures with cobalt tail. Also cover half a millimeter of the enamel surface with cobalt tail. After covering the last tooth in the work area, move the light cure from a distance of 1 cm from the gum and make back and forth movements on the gum edge for 20 seconds. If you are using cobalt tail for one tooth, only 3-5 seconds of curing is sufficient. To ensure proper curing, check the resin with a catheter.
- After the treatment is complete, simply remove the connection by inserting an instrument such as a catheter or dressing pen between the tissue and the resin. All or a large portion of the cobalt tail will be easily removed. You can also remove any cobalt tail remaining in the interproximal space with a catheter or dental floss.
- After the cobalt extraction is complete, the patient’s mouth should be rinsed.
Clinical tips when working with cobalt gingival protective resin
This product is designed for dental use only, by dentists.
Avoid using the product for patients who are allergic to its components.
Please do not use after the expiration date.
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
Before using on a patient, test the resin on a pad or glass slab to familiarize yourself with the amount of pressure required to expel the resin from the syringe, otherwise a large volume may be expelled. Never test the resin in the patient’s mouth before checking it outside the mouth. When using cobalt tail at the gingival margin of all teeth, move the light cure and avoid prolonged heating on one area. If the resin is difficult to expel from the syringe, replace your needle tip. After working on the patient, replace the needle tip and close the syringe cap. This will extend the life of the product.
