Instructions for using calcium cobalt hydroxide carrier liquid

Product Description:

  • Cobalt Calcium Hydroxide Carrier Fluid is used as a carrier for calcium powder. It is a blend of polyethylene glycols of varying weights that creates a smooth, creamy paste of calcium hydroxide and improves the handling of the paste. The elimination of water in the composition of this fluid also increases the working time of the calcium and does not set until the paste absorbs moisture from the medium.
  • This material also places a higher concentration of hydroxyl ions and calcium in the vicinity of the root dentin due to the greater solubility of calcium. Studies have shown that this solution increases the release of ions from the compound over time and increases the antibacterial properties of the paste. Also, the calcium paste is neutralized more slowly along the dentinal tubules of the root.

Components:

One bottle (12 grams)

Uses:

Making calcium paste in combination with calcium hydroxide powder to make LSTR (Lesion Sterilization and Tissue Repair)

Method of use:

After preparing the root canal space, rinse and dry it. Mix an appropriate amount of powder with the calcium hydroxide cobalt carrier liquid and stir until a creamy consistency is obtained. Then, place an appropriate amount of the paste into the pulp chamber of the tooth and direct it into the canal with some cotton or lentillo. Finally, remove excess calcium from the pulp chamber space with a cotton ball. The calcium paste obtained by mixing the carrier liquid with the powder is completely washed with water and removed from the canal in the second session. However, it is recommended to wash the canal with a 40% cobalt citric acid solution after washing with water. This product is designed for dental use only, by dentists. If the solution is stored in the refrigerator, it should be brought to room temperature before use to equilibrate the substance to the room temperature. Mixing this liquid with other powders used in dentistry is not recommended.

Storage conditions:

Store at 5-25°C. Refrigeration in tropical areas helps extend the shelf life of the product.
