Instructions for using cobalt polymer acid etching

Cobalt Polymer Acid Etching Product

  • Cobalt Etching Acid is a 37% phosphoric acid gel with a special polymer gelling agent that gives the gel an ideal viscosity. This gel is used for enamel and dentin surface preparation as well as for cleaning the surface of restorations. This etching acid effectively removes the surface smear layer and demineralizes the enamel and dentin surface to achieve the micromechanical hold required for an ideal bond.
  • Cobalt Etch is easily washed off with water. Its distinctive blue color and ideal viscosity make it suitable for selective enamel etching when self-etching bonding agents are used. Cobalt Etch is easily applied to the surface and does not delaminate the desired surfaces. This ensures that only the desired dental areas are etched, avoiding unnecessary etching of healthy surfaces.

Components:

Prefilled syringe

Three 3.7 gram syringes, three 25 gauge needle heads

Jumbo syringe

One 60 gram syringe with connector series

Uses:

Preparing the enamel and dentin surface

Cleaning the restoration

Method of use:

Since the product in question is gelled by a polymer gelling agent, it is recommended to use only the 25-gauge needle tip provided in the package.

Using lower gauge needles can result in excessive acid leakage from the needle tip and create an unpleasant experience when using this product.

Remove the luer lock tip of the syringe and firmly place the needle tip in place. Be sure to check the flowability of the material before using it inside the mouth. When using polymer acid etchants, for optimal use, it is better to use controlled hand pressure to expel the acid from the syringe and reduce the hand pressure before moving the syringe backward and then pull the syringe back. This helps to place the appropriate amount of acid in the cavity and perform selective etching.

If you pull your hand back while applying pressure and creating shear force in the acid, you may experience excessive acid release and create elasticity in the product.

Isolate the tooth to be treated. Apply Cobalt Etch Gel first to the enamel and then to the dentin, and rinse thoroughly after 15 seconds. The etching time for enamel can vary from 20 to 60 seconds depending on the type of tooth and enamel. Unetched enamel and the enamel of deciduous teeth require more time to fully etch. To clean the inner surface of the restorations, you can apply Cobalt Etch Gel to the surfaces for 10 seconds and then rinse thoroughly.

  • For jumbo syringe

Remove the luer lock tip of the jumbo syringe. Attach the connector and syringe to the jumbo syringe. Depress the plunger of the jumbo syringe to the desired volume. Remove the jumbo syringe and reattach the luer lock tip. Attach the needle tip to the syringe. You may also see the appearance of acid elasticity during the process of filling the 3cc syringe. It is best to create a slight negative pressure in the syringe before removing the 3cc syringe from the connector.

Clinical cut while working with cobalt etching

This product is intended for dental use by dentists only. The use of prophylactic pastes containing oil or fluoride before using phosphoric acid gel will interfere with its performance. Before using, test the gel on a pad or glass slab to familiarize yourself with the amount of pressure required to expel the gel from the syringe, otherwise a large volume of gel may be expelled. If the gel is difficult to expel from the syringe, replace your needle tip. If your file is near the pulp, use a protective base before using this acid. After working with the acid gel, replace the needle tip and close the syringe cap. This will extend the product’s shelf life. Please do not use after the expiration date. Avoid direct sunlight.

Warnings:

Since the phosphoric acid in the gel is corrosive, avoid contact of the gel with skin and eyes. If the acid comes into contact with tissue, wash the area thoroughly with plenty of water. If the product gets into the eyes, rinse them with plenty of water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Storage conditions:

Please store at 5-25°C. Refrigeration in tropical climates will help extend the shelf life of the product. Exposing the product to temperatures above 35°C and below 3°C can result in phase separation in the mixture.

Avoid exposing the product to the mentioned temperatures for long periods of time.
