Product Description:
Cobalt Oxybar Gel contains gelling glycerin and is used to prevent the formation of an Oxygen Inhibited Layer in the presence of polymerizable resin. This gel, with minimal water content, provides an optimal environment for composite polymerization and aids in the removal of the oxygen-inhibited layer.
Components:
- Two 5-gram syringes
- Special applicator tip (gauge 18)
Contraindications:
This gel should not be used between layers of composite or after bonding has been applied. The removal of the oxygen-inhibited layer can eliminate the bonding agents within the bulk of the composite, resulting in inadequate adhesion between layers and reduced composite strength.
Instructions for Use:
- Apply a suitable amount of gel onto the last layer of composite or the interface of the restoration cement, and then proceed with curing. Ensure that the entire surface of the resin is covered, including the margins of the restoration.
- After complete curing, rinse any excess gel with an air-water spray.
Clinical Considerations During Use:
- This product is designed for dental applications and must be used by dental professionals.
- Avoid using this product on patients with known allergies to its components.
- Before use, test the gel on a pad or glass slab to familiarize yourself with the necessary pressure for dispensing; otherwise, a large volume of gel may be released.
Warnings:
- Prevent the patient from swallowing the gel.
- In case of contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for 10 minutes. Seek medical attention if symptoms such as redness or blurred vision occur.
- If the gel contacts the skin, wash the area thoroughly.
Storage Conditions:
Store at 5-25°C. Refrigeration in tropical climates can extend the product’s shelf life.
