Product Description:
Cobalt Polymer Gel Etch is a 37% phosphoric acid gel formulated with a special polymer gelling agent, providing an ideal viscosity for surface preparation of enamel and dentin as well as cleaning restoration surfaces. This acid etch effectively removes the smear layer and demineralizes the enamel and dentin surfaces to achieve the necessary micromechanical retention for optimal bonding. Cobalt Etch rinses off easily with water, and its distinctive blue color and ideal viscosity make it suitable for selective enamel etching, particularly when using self-etch bonding systems. Cobalt Etch adheres well to surfaces and does not run, allowing precise etching of intended areas while preventing unnecessary etching of healthy surfaces.
Components:
- Pre-filled syringe
- 3 x 3.7g Syringes
- 3 x 25-gauge needles
- Jumbo Syringe
- 1 x 60g Jumbo Syringe
- Specialized Tip
- Connector
Indications:
- Preparation of enamel and dentin surfaces
- Cleaning restoration surfaces
Instructions for Use:
- Since this product uses a polymer gelling agent, only use the provided 25-gauge needle included in the packaging. Using a lower-gauge needle may result in excessive acid flow, leading to undesirable results.
- Remove the syringe’s Luer-Lock cap and securely attach the needle. Before intraoral use, check the material’s flow outside the mouth. For optimal use of polymer etch gels, apply controlled pressure when extruding the acid, and reduce the pressure before retracting the syringe to prevent excessive acid flow and enable precise, selective etching.
- Isolate the target tooth. Apply Cobalt Etch first to the enamel, then to the dentin. Rinse thoroughly after 15 seconds. The etching time for enamel may vary between 20 to 60 seconds depending on the tooth type and enamel condition. Uncut enamel and primary teeth require longer etching times for effective etching.
- For cleaning the internal surfaces of restorations, apply Cobalt Etch for 10 seconds, then rinse thoroughly.
For Jumbo Syringe Use:
Remove the Luer-Lock cap from the jumbo syringe, attach the connector and the syringe, and depress the plunger to dispense the desired volume. Remove the syringe and reattach the Luer-Lock cap. Attach the needle to the syringe.
Clinical Tips:
- This product is intended for dental use only by professionals.
- Avoid using prophylactic pastes containing oils or fluoride before applying phosphoric acid gel, as they interfere with its efficacy.
- Test the gel outside the patient’s mouth on a pad or glass slab to familiarize yourself with the pressure needed for extrusion.
- If the gel is difficult to extrude, replace the needle.
- If the preparation is close to the pulp, use a protective base before applying the etch.
- Replace the needle and seal the syringe after use to prolong product shelf life.
- Do not use after the expiration date.
- Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
Warnings:
- As phosphoric acid is corrosive, avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact with tissue, wash thoroughly with plenty of water.
- If the product splashes into the eyes, rinse with water for 15 minutes and seek immediate medical attention.
Storage Conditions:
- Store at 5°C-25°C.
- Refrigeration in tropical climates can extend the product’s shelf life.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to temperatures above 35°C or below 3°C, as this can cause phase separation in the formulation.
