Product Description:
Filpex is a pre-mixed calcium hydroxide paste containing iodoform. The addition of iodoform enhances the radiopacity and provides the paste with antibacterial properties. The single-use disposable injection tip allows for easy delivery into the root canal while preventing cross-contamination between patients. Its oil-based formulation ensures long-lasting durability in the root canal, making it suitable for use as a filler in primary teeth after pulpectomy.
Components:
- 1 x 2g Syringe
- 3 x Specialized Tips
Indications:
- Root filling material for primary teeth
- Pulp capping and pulpotomy
- Temporary root filling in adult teeth
- Inducing hard tissue barrier formation
Instructions for Use:
- After preparing the root canal, rinse and dry it thoroughly. Attach the disposable tip to the syringe and insert it into the root canal up to 3-4 mm from the apex. Gently inject the appropriate amount of calcium hydroxide paste into the canal while withdrawing the syringe. Use a sterile cotton pellet to remove excess paste from the pulp chamber. To protect the product from moisture after use, remove the needle tip and cap the syringe.
- If the paste is difficult to extrude, trim a small portion of the needle tip using scissors.
Clinical Tips:
- This product is intended for dental use only by professionals.
- Avoid using the product on patients who are allergic to any of its ingredients.
- In adult patients, avoid leaving the paste in place for more than one month.
- Test the paste on a pad or glass slab before using it on the patient to get familiar with the pressure needed for extrusion. Excessive force may lead to over-extrusion.
- Filpex is not suitable as a final root canal filling for permanent teeth.
- Avoid overfilling beyond the apex.
- The paste will dry upon exposure to air, so replace the needle tip and close the syringe after use to extend the product’s shelf life.
